Little Big Horn Lodge... one of Colorado's finest hunting lodges located in the San Juan Mountain Range Southeast of Montrose.
The hunting elevations, for which we hunt, ranges from 7,000 to 11,000 feet.
Our area is in Game Management Unit "65" and has produced many Trophy Bucks and Bulls. We hunt on private property and BLM which borders the back side of our property.
Our hunters are offered the finest opportunities in elk and mule deer hunting. Before our day begins, a game plan will be developed and a variety of watches from easy to strenuous will be available for your selection. We start our hunt by daybreak offering four wheel drive transportation to our various locations. From there our guides will personally place each hunter. Shooting distances typically range from 100 to 500 yards depending on which location. Part of our full service includes retrieval of your game and storage in our refrigerated meat house. My guides and myself work hard to make your hunt successful and enjoyable.

Our hunting parties are taken on a contract basis with a 1/2 deposit of the total price of the hunt to confirm a booking. In the event of a cancellation, the deposit will be forfeited. The final payment must be in cash, certified check, or travelers checks. No personal checks.
Everything is prearranged for your convenience, with one standard price for all, which includes guide service 4-wheel drive to hunting areas, packing, refrigerated meat-house to hang your meat till you are ready to leave and many other miscellaneous services. Upon booking a hunter's check list will be sent, suggesting personal gear to bring. Firearm hunters born after January 1, 1949 must have a hunters safety card to purchase a big game hunting license.
ARCHERY
Our Archery Hunts provide you with the excitement of the bugle hunt during the height of the rut for elk or the stalking of your mule deer for the thrill that will last a lifetime. Fully guided - 2 hunters to 1 guide.
MUZZLELOADER
This hunt is by drawing only. The Muzzleloader Hunt is the same as the Archery Hunt, but you have the advantage of a more distant shot. Fully guided - 2 hunters to 1 guide.
RIFLE
Our hunting areas have been very productive in the harvest of Elk & Mule Deer. The advantages of our hunting areas are: resident herds, migration of the animals from adjacent ranches and pressure from public land, snow conditions in the higher elevations.
Throughout the year, we spent a considerable amount of time observing the herds and searching out places they are feeding and bedding. The benefits of knowing the herd locations and size of the bucks and bulls - speaks for itself in our "success ratios".
Our hunts are structured so that all hunters can be accommodated based on their physical conditions.
FISHING
During your fishing trip you will stay at Little Big Horn Lodge. We provide lodging, family style meals and guide service. For stream fishing, we will be fishing on the Big Cimarron River. Species of fish are Native Rainbow Trout and Brook Trout. We have a variety of high mountain lakes. These lakes were stocked in past years and we have done well in the management of the fish, allowing them to reproduce, attributing to great success.
VACATION
Our lodge, during the summer season, is available for family vacations, family reunions, etc. Rates depending upon size of group and length of stay.

1/2 deposit is required to hold a reservation and balance is due 30 days before your hunt. Above full service rates include: Guide Service, 4-wheel drive, electrically heated bunkhouse, 3 meals daily, we skin & quarter your game, refrigerated meathouse for your game, provide transportation to and from Montrose Airport.
You arrive one day before your hunt begins and depart one day after your hunt ends. Due to hunters departing and the housekeeping of the bunkhouse, we would appreciate if you would not arrive ahead of your scheduled date.
